Women's Business Enterprise Program // Meet and Greet Meetings
Corporations strengthen their reputations when they contribute to the success of Minority and Women Business Enterprises (MWBEs), and diverse small businesses grow when larger organizations are encouraged to seek them out. For corporations considering strategies to increase MWBE spend, Tier II programs are of special note for WBEs seeking growth opportunities via diversity initiatives. Historically, growth opportunities for WBEs are further down the supply chain, however actively working with Tier I suppliers to improve supplier diversity programs ultimately boosts supplier diversity success. Through a Tier II program, key suppliers are required to create and maintain their own supplier diversity programs and report their spend - a strong Tier II program builds networks and creates opportunities. The number of suppliers a company can partner with is finite, but once Tier II is established, the potential is nearly unlimited.
This Women's Business Enterprise Program supports WBENC's and WBEC's ongoing commitment of connecting major corporations and Women Business Enterprises with the goal of developing relationships and generating business opportunities. This event provides an opportunity for you to connect with WBEC corporate and government council members, participate in roundtable discussions, and learn best practices in leveraging your WBENC certification and accessing corporate, Tier I, and government markets.
This event offers opportunities to introduce yourself and your company to corporate and government leaders, to learn about the latest industry-specific trends, to hear how to navigate supplier diversity and procurement channels, and to make connections for business growth with both WBEs and within the government and corporate sectors. There will also be an opportunity to participate in Meet and Greet Meetings.
